Cloud Lead
What you will do
As a Cloud Lead at Iberia, you will be responsible for overseeing the cloud infrastructure and services within a specific business domain, which aggregates multiple digital products. You will manage and mentor Cloud Engineers across your domain, ensuring that cloud strategies align with company standards and objectives while addressing the specific needs of each product. You will report to and be managed by the Principal Cloud Architect.
Responsibilities
- Leadership: Lead and mentor Cloud Engineers across multiple product teams within your business domain, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Cloud Strategy: Define and implement cloud strategies for digital products within your business domain, ensuring alignment with the overall organizational cloud strategy.
- Architecture and Implementation: Oversee the implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architectures. Collaborate with solutions architects to ensure alignment between architectural designs and implementation. Guide teams in implementing modern patterns like S3/CloudFront for frontend hosting and API Gateway with containerized backends. Ensure proper use of AWS services, Terraform, and containerized solutions across domain products.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability. Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions across the domain.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance standards, implementing necessary controls and monitoring.
- Innovation: Drive innovation by exploring new cloud technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the domain’s cloud capabilities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Principal Cloud Engineer, and other stakeholders across your domain to ensure successful delivery.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex technical challenges related to cloud infrastructure and services across domain products.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, processes, and best practices.
What we expect from you
- Experience: Extensive experience in cloud architecture and engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing cloud solutions. Minimum 5+ years with AWS and 2+ years in technical leadership roles.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud platform and services
- Good understanding of cloud architecture principles and ability to implement architectural designs
- Advanced proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker, ECS) and serverless architectures
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Dynatrace, CloudWatch)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD practices
- Mentorship: Strong ability to mentor and develop technical talent.
- Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges.
- Security and Compliance: Knowledge of cloud security and compliance standards and best practices.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts and strategies to diverse audiences.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, staying current with industry trends and advancements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

- Domain Leadership: Oversee cloud infrastructure across multiple digital products within your business domain, ensuring consistency while respecting each product’s specific needs.
- Hands-on Leadership: Balance strategic planning with hands-on technical work, participating in architecture reviews, code reviews, and complex implementations across your domain.
- Mentor and Guide: Dedicate time to developing Cloud Engineers across multiple teams through regular technical workshops, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Drive Innovation: Stay current with cloud technologies and lead proof-of-concepts for new tools and methodologies that can benefit your entire domain.
- Cross-Product Coordination: Ensure alignment and knowledge sharing between different product teams within your domain while maintaining their autonomy.

With whom
You will work with multiple agile product teams within your business domain, collaborating with Product Owners, Cloud Engineers, Scrum Masters, and development teams. You will directly manage and mentor the Cloud Engineers across these product teams within your domain.
There are several teams and roles that will support you: The Software Engineering Team and Solutions Architects who define the architectural designs you’ll implement; DevSecOps teams will assist with security and compliance needs; Tech Leads will collaborate on technical decisions; and the Principal Cloud Architect will be your direct manager, helping align your domain’s implementation with architectural vision and organizational goals.
You’ll also collaborate with other Cloud Leads from different domains to share knowledge and best practices. The Principal Cloud Engineers will provide guidance on organizational cloud standards and help with cross-domain initiatives. You will not be alone in driving cloud excellence.
